Meisha Johnson, Paralegal
I started working as a receptionist for a small Kansas City personal injury and workers compensation firm while still in high school. I met Tomi when she started as a paralegal at the same firm a couple months later. Over the next ten years while I finished high school, college, and graduate school, I worked my way up to taking on paralegal responsibilities including medical records reviews and settlement demand drafting. Eager to explore other areas of law, I took a full-time paralegal position with a Kansas foreclosure firm, while completing my Master's Degree. I worked as a Human Resources Generalist for a few years using my degree and paralegal experience before a unique opportunity presented itself.
In 2018, my husband and I started Sparkburn Hotrods, a custom hotrod restoration shop in Paola, KS. I left the traditional office setting to manage the shop's day-to-day operations, but I was missing paralegal work. The opportunity to work with Tomi providing virtual paralegal support to personal injury, wrongful death, and nursing home abuse attorneys was a perfect fit. I am able to stay involved with Sparkburn while also doing the paralegal work I enjoy.
